After Edward paid their bill, they were about to go when he
saw that a guy was talking to Mary Dale.
The guy was too close for comfort to Mary Dale while
talking.
It's obvious that Mary Dale is uncomfortable with what the
guy is doing but she still manages to smile.
When the guy suddenly held Mary Dale’s waist close to him
and whispered in her ear, Edward immediately came over and yanked Mary Dale
away.
“What the f*ck, man! We’re talking here!” and the guy even
held Mary Dale’s arm.
Edward tightly grasped the guys hand so that the guy let go
of Mary Dale.
He looked at the guy grimly.
Good thing the guy didn’t insist and just left while holding
the hand that Edward grasped.
He looked at Mary Dale and asked, “Are you okay?” with so much
concern in his voice.
His voice was like a bucket of ice dumped on her back.
She stiffened her spine.
“You can let go of my hand now sir! I can deal with him
myself!” and she even smiled at Edward to show that she’s okay.
“I told ypu to stop calling me sir!” he told Mary Dale
exasperatedly.
“Sorry sir! But if you don’t have anything else to say, then
I’ll go back to work!” she smilingly told Edward.
She could feel her lips tearing from smiling too much.
Just as she was turning her back to leave, Edward pulled
her.
What
does this assshole want to happen?
“Damn it, Mary Dale! Talk to me! Stop acting like you don’t
know me!” he said in too much frustration.
Mary Dale didn’t speak, she just looked into Edwards eyes.
She can feel her heart beating rapidly again while it
twitches in pain.
She’s feeling the numbness
again.
She clenches her fists.
She feels weary.
She doesn’t want to put meaning anymore to what Edward is
doing.
She already did that before.
She noticed from the corner of her eye the woman that Edward
was with.
The woman was just looking at them as if observing what will
happen next.
“My apologies sir! But I don’t know what you are talking
about.” She says calmly.
Edward pulled his hair a bit in vexation.
He can't help but feel guiltier with what Mary Dale is
showing him.
Maybe if she cried or blamed him, he would have accepted it.
But he can't accept her indifference.
Awhile ago when he saw what the guy was doing to her, he
can't help but remember the first time they met.
“What were you two talking about?” Edward strives to calm
his voice.
“He was asking me to be his mistress.” She said with no
emotion in a whisper-like voice.
She’s used to those indecent proprsals.
“What did you say?” Edward doesn’t know if he heard her
wrong.
She looks unaffected by it.
“He asked me if I was willing to be his mistress.” The
thought of which left a bitter taste in her mouth.
“F*ck! And you just let him talk to you like that?” he said
in a loud voice.
“Sorry sir, but whatever we talked about is none of your
business!”
“Wait! Don’t tell me you agreed?” he asked in disbelief.
