Poem
About Hiding Your Pain.
I was raised without a father in my life. I only had my mother and sister so I had to be the man of the house and I had to protect them from any harm that was coming to them. So I had to wear a mask, not showing my fears, my feelings. I am kinda scared what will happen once I removed the mask. I guess it’s going to be something that life will teach me along the way…..
I WILL WEAR MASKS
In time of trouble and insanity
I carried masks to disguise
the pain I carry
secure behind my eyes
I can never let out again
the misery I hide
to hell with my dignity
to hell with my pride
From this day forward
and for ever more
I will mount this mask
that will be my lore
No reaching out when I am weak
no solace will I seek
When you look for answers
when you say your prayers
all you will see is masks
and no pain that I bare.
