The Minister of Finance, Mrs, Kemi Adeosun; President of
Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II; and Chairman of
the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mr. Tunde Flowler, are among the eminent
personalities to be honored with the Merit Award of the Institute of Chartered Accountant
of Nigeria this year.
Some other eminent Nigerians and organizations will join
them to receive recognition for their contributions to the development of the
accountancy profession and the Nigerian economy in Lagos on Saturday, according
to a statement by ICAN.
Dangote, Sanusi and Fowler will receive the award in the
Non-Members’ Category for their contributions to the nation building while
Adeosun, Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi; Chief Financial Officer/
Group Executive Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr.
Abdulrazak Isiaka; and the Executive Secretary of the Association of
Accountancy Bodies in West Africa, Mrs. Margaret Unubun, will receive the award
in the Member’s Category, for upholding the ICAN ideals of accountability,
integrity and exemplary leadership.
