Woman Who Gained Prison Pardon Mets With Kim
Kardashian
Kim Kardashian West, yesterday finally met with Alice Marie Johnson,
the 63-year-old great-grandmother she helped free after 21 years in prison,
they both celebrated the moment in Memphis, and taking time out to snap with
Snapchat.
“Alice has never used filters before so I’m showing her the ropes.
Love you Alice!” said Kim in one of the videos. And later, during a sitdown
with Hoda Kotb for a Today show, she said this of Ms. Johnson: “I love this woman.
I love this lady.”
“I mean I already knew just by talking to you
on the phone and just seeing you in videos, but I mean you are everything and
more than I ever thought,” she continued.
The incident is coming few weeks after kim meet with
Presidnt Trump at the White House to discuss prison reform, and particularly
the case of Ms. Alice Marie Johnson who had served more than 20 years in prison
for a low-level drug offence.
Johnson was convicted of drug-trafficking charges and was
sentenced to life in prison in 1996. Kim Kardashian took
interest in her case and joined the cause for Johnson’s clemency after she
watched a prison video published by the online outlet Mic, in which Johnson
argued that she had turned to the world of cocaine trafficking because she was
in a desperate situation.
The step taken by Kim weeks later led to Trump granting the
great-grandmother a pardon, and she was allowed to reunite with her large
family.
Now, Kim has met Alice Johnson and the reality star’s fans
are super proud of this.
