Motor racing in Nigeria is now on a new level with the first race
track that has been installed in the country.
The track is situated on 130 acres of land in Evbuobanosa,
in Orhionmwon Local Government Area in Edo state, southern Nigeria.
Okao Uduagbon, the head of motor sports club in Nigeria, achieved his
dream of three years when he built the first race track in Nigeria in 2015.
Before he built the track, it was untarred road motor racers
used for their racing activities.
Uduagbon bought his first bike in 2005 but the way he
enjoyed motor racing was as if he had been into the sport for a long time.
Apart from bike racing, they also do car racing on the race
track and it was Robson Omoseye who won the car racing competition they did
this May.
Racers descend from all over Nigeria to race in competitions
they do on the track every year.
This has been an encouragement for Uduagbon to upgrade the
new track to the next level like the one in African countries like Botswana,
Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda and South Africa.
He believed that if government, big companies and others can invest money in motor sport, it can bring Nigeria to limelight.
