Mary Dale successfully managed to avoid being questioned by
Jinnie and Elisse.
She went home exhausted.
Which is a good thing because it took her mind off what
happened.
She just took off her make-up and removed her uniform.
She was too tired to change so she just slept in her
underwear.
She crawled into bed and covered herself with a blanket.
Thankfully sleep immediately took over her body.
She woke up to the sound of her cell phone’s alarm.
She got up and showered.
She took her time in the bath.
And only stopped when she felt her skin begin to numb from
all the scrubbing that seems to be becoming her obsession.
She prepared for lunch and ate like usual.
She’s like a zombie going through all the motions.
She went back to her room and lay down on the bed.
She stared at the ceiling.
She sees Edward looking back at her.
Smiling, frowning, laughing, all the different emotions that
crosses his face when they are together.
But mostly she sees his smiling face.
Those smiles that almost always melts her heart.
She reaches out as if to touch his face.
But then his voice broke her out of her reverie.
“It’s over Mary Dale.”
It keeps repeating in her mind.
She closed her eyes as if to erase the memory.
She feels her heart ache so she rubs her fist on her chest,
hoping to somehow ease the pain.
She slowly got up and went to get a glass of water.
She thinks of drinking something stronger but changes her
mind.
She knows that drinking alcohol will not be able to
alleviate the emptiness she feels.
She decides to call her aunt in Japan and ask if the
position she offered is still available.
Her aunt sounded surprised by her question.
“Why? Are you coming here?” her aunt asks concerned.
Her aunt knew of her relationship with Edward and knows that
she is staying here because of him.
“I might.” She answers simply, not wanting to elaborate on
her reason.
Thankfully her aunt didn’t press her about it.
“That’s great! Just call me when so I can pick you up myself
from the airport!” her aunt excitedly answered.
“Thanks Auntie! Call you again soon! Bye!”
Upon ending the call, she sees her wallpaper.
It was a picture of her and Edward.
He was looking at her and not at the camera.
This was her favorite because she thought he looks so in
love with her.
Which she now realizes is nothing but a lie.
She changes her wallpaper and proceeds to delete all their
photos and videos together.
Her hand was shaking while deleting his photos from her
gallery.
She then erases his number from her contacts.
There’s no turning back now.
